Amber Valley has a realm of historical buildings and is privileged to be part of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, confirming the outstanding importance of the area as the birthplace of the factory system, where in the 18th Century water power was successfully harnessed for textile production.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide specialist heritage advice to support the Development Management and Planning Policy services of the Council, ensuring the enhancement, protection and promotion of the Borough’s heritage assets.
Applicants will require:
- excellent communication, report writing, presentation and negotiation skills with a range of audiences and ability to deal with contentious issues;
- an extensive knowledge of heritage and how it can be used positively to underpin corporate objectives and priorities;
