This is an exciting opportunity to provide specialist heritage advice to support the Development Management and Planning Policy services of the Council, ensuring the enhancement, protection and promotion of the Borough’s heritage assets.

Applicants will require:

  • excellent communication, report writing, presentation and negotiation skills with a range of audiences and ability to deal with contentious issues;
  • an extensive knowledge of heritage and how it can be used positively to underpin corporate objectives and priorities;
  • at least three years practical experience of legislation, policy, guidance and practice in respect of heritage matters; and
  • a Degree in Town and Country Planning or equivalent qualification plus membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute
