Senior Town Planner (DM)

Our client in North London requires a Senior Planning Officer to carry out a role within their Development Management Team. As a Senior Planning Officer you will be required to assess a range of applications from certificates and householders up to and including small scale major applications (up to 50 residential units).

On occasion you will need to carry out site visits and you will be expected to undertake consultation exercises and produce detailed written report documents that clearly lay out how planning decisions have been arrived at. On a daily basis you will be dealing with planning enquiries from agents, applicants and the general public and you will be required to give accurate pre-application advice to prospective developers. You will also be required to represent the Council at appeals.

Recent work experience in the field is essential and your knowledge of current planning legislation and guidelines will need to be fully up to date. You will need to have good communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of stakeholders on a daily basis to convey complex, detailed information in a clear, concise format.

The role will be a 3 month rolling contract and the rate will be in the region of £35-£40 per hour dependant on experience. Please get in touch for more information, a job spec is available.
