Leicestershire County Council is a high performing authority that is committed to providing the best service by employing the best people. We want to achieve results, by being positive, flexible and co-operative.

As a leading mineral planning authority, Leicestershire plays a strategic role in the supply of construction material to support national housebuilding and infrastructure requirements, and can offer experience of dealing with some of the Country’s largest mineral operations.

We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic, well-motivated planning officer working within the Planning Team.  We manage our workload flexibly so you will have the opportunity to deal with mineral, waste and County Council planning applications; monitoring of mineral and waste sites, compliance with planning control and minerals and waste policy.

The work is challenging and as a large employer we can offer flexible working arrangements with the possibility of working from home; excellent pension scheme; generous holidays; and relocation expenses where appropriate.

You will hold a degree or equivalent higher education qualification in planning or a related discipline and have a full driving licence and you will be a member of the RTPI.

You will have experience in mineral and waste planning doing policy or development management work at a senior level. You will play a key role in the team able to offer support and guidance to other team members through your planning experience and knowledge.
