Leicestershire County Council is a high performing authority that is committed to providing the best service by employing the best people. We want to achieve results, by being positive, flexible and co-operative.

As a leading mineral planning authority, Leicestershire plays a strategic role in the supply of construction material to support national housebuilding and infrastructure requirements, and can offer experience of dealing with some of the Country’s largest mineral operations.

We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic, well-motivated planning officer working within the Planning Team.  We manage our workload flexibly so you will have the opportunity to deal with mineral, waste and County Council planning applications; monitoring of mineral and waste sites, compliance with planning control and minerals and waste policy.

The work is challenging and as a large employer we can offer flexible working arrangements with the possibility of working from home; excellent pension scheme; generous holidays; and relocation expenses where appropriate.

You will hold a degree or equivalent higher education qualification in planning or a related discipline and have a full driving licence.

You will preferably have experience in dealing with mineral and waste planning applications and starting salary will be related to experience and qualifications.
