An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Lead Advisor at one of the UK's most prestigious charities who are widely recognised as a leading authority in the use and development of strategic design.

Their primary objective is to encourage the use of design and regeneration of the built environment to stimulate growth, enhance places and cities in conjunction with the creation of happier, healthier and safer lives for all.

They currently have a requirement for a driven Lead Advisor to manage and grow an already rapidly expanding portfolio of clients that consists of Local Authorities, Amenity Societies, Elected Members and major infrastructure providers that will provide the successful candidate unprecedented access to the UK's largest planning, design, infrastructure and regeneration projects.

As Lead Advisor you will play a pivotal role managing and delivering a variety of projects that include overseeing Design Review services / panels and consultancy projects that imbedding corporate design infrastructure and processes to meet the needs of specific clients and to facilitate the creation of better places for the public.

In addition, you will work closely with clients and design teams progressing development proposals, masterplans as well as supervising the content of design reviews whilst identifying new business opportunities and evaluating the quality of current service provision.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Lead and manage a small team of Design Advisors whilst promoting the delivery of exceptional standards of service and content.
  • Prepare and manage programmes and budgets
  • Undertake special initiatives and programmes
  • Lead the recruitment and coordination of built environment professionals
  • Provide strategic input in to the analysis and development of new design orientated services
  • Manage and build strategic relationships with clients
  • Communicate architectural, planning and urban design concepts in conjunction with working collaboratively with experts in the built environment sector.

The ideal candidate will have acquired significant experience in the built environment sector from either an Architectural, Planning, Urban Design or Landscape background as well as being adept at delivering projects, managing client relationships and mentoring junior team members.

Moreover you will have exemplary commercial acumen, analytical skills and have a keen interest and the built environment.

Furthermore you'll have a progressive design philosophy with an aptitude for embracing new design innovation and how it can influence the development of the built environment through architecture, planning, regeneration and urban design.

As a key figure within the built environment team, you will liaise and work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders with varying levels of seniority from public, private and third sectors, therefore excellent written and verbal communication skills are pre-requisite for this post.
