Full Time Permanent Post
Salary: £23,866 – £26,470
PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To assist in the preparation of an up-to-date land use planning framework for the Borough of Gosport and its effective implementation.
HOURS OF WORK: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday; in accordance with the Council’s flexitime system.
You may be required to work outside normal office hours from time to time.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS: The postholder is a casual car user for car allowance purposes.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: KEY TASKS
Professional
Plan Preparation
To prepare documents supporting the Local Plan.
To prepare evidence for examination of the Local Plan.
To prepare Supplementary Planning Documents.
To engage the community in plan preparation.
Information
To monitor the implementation of plan policies and proposals.
To organise and undertake research and data in key subject areas related to the section’s workload.
To contribute key data sets to the statutory Authority Monitoring Report.
Developer Contributions
To prepare Community Infrastructure Levy documents.
Liaison & Consultation
To liaise, provide information and advice on the Local Plan and other policy documents to:
- other officers;
- Members of the Council;
- other organisations
- developers;
- the general public;
- community groups.
Development Management
To respond to consultations from Development Management on planning applications.
Other Activities
To contribute to the delivery corporate projects from a strategic and planning policy perspective.
Technical Support
To use PC based word processing and GIS software.
To use PC based planning software system (Idox Uniform and DMS and Exacom) to input and extract information.
Professional Awareness
To provide a good level of customer care to all stakeholders of the Council.
