Planner, Senior and Associate Town Planner positions | Birmingham | up to £55k

Planner, Senior and Associate grade Planning Consultants required for TWO respected and established consultancies in central Birmingham, working on major projects across residential, commercial, environmental and infrastructure related projects.

 

Whether you are a private sector planning consultant looking to work on larger, challenging and more exciting projects or a local authority planner looking for your first position in consulting, this could be the opportunity for you.

 

With both companies boasting attractive, centrally located offices and fantastic travel connections, these positions would suit Birmingham city dwellers and commuters from across the west and south midlands region, and relocators are also welcome to apply.

 

Given the size of these companies, all projects are of medium and large scale and the ethos is to ensure that all professional staff are immersed at the forefront of projects from day one. Professional development is key and a great deal of effort and attention is paid to your personal growth and success. From Senior Planner upwards you will be liaising with clients, mentoring and leading junior staff and encouraged where possible to develop new business leads.

 

Typical work streams will include:

  • Planning studies, reports and proposals
  • Site appraisals and client meetings
  • Planning applications and supporting statements
  • Policy reviews and assessments
  • Development plans and local plan reviews
  • Stakeholder engagement from clients through to local authority planners, external consultants and the general public

 

Ideally, you will have a development management background (public or private sector) but applicants from a policy background are welcome as working knowledge of planning policy and development plans is also very desirable.

 

You must have a minimum of 1 years’ post qualification experience to be considered for the Planner position and ideally be on the chartership pathway. m

To be considered for a Senior Planner position, at least 4 years' experience is required and you should be MRTPI chartered.

For the Associate level position, we are looking for candidates with 6+ years' experience and plenty of client contact and project management experience.

 

My clients are experienced and successful in mentoring junior staff through the APC process and have fantastic plans on place for further professional development of all staff.
