Planning Officer/Junior Planner - Oxfordshire

An Oxfordshire Local Authority is seeking a Planner to join their team.

The Council require a Planner to join the Development Management Team in a busy and friendly office. You will be working on Householder applications, advertisement of consent applications, certificates of lawfulness and small-scale proposals. The District is comprised of market towns, villages and countryside, so the caseload will be varied.

The Council are looking for individuals who are up for the challenge, willing to learn, enthusiastic, organised and committed to providing an excellent planning service.

Previous experience processing Householder applications in a Local Authority Planning department would be beneficial, but is not essential. The Council would consider candidates with Private Sector experience, or Graduates with some work experience.

You will have the support of senior members of the team to develop your knowledge of planning processes and will have the opportunity to work on a more complex caseload as you progress.

The contract will be for an initial three months, but there is the potential to extend to six to nine. The Council can offer some flexible working arrangements, such as home working or a compressed week.
