An excellent opportunity has arisen within our Planning and Regulation team for a Principal Planning Officer.

Stevenage is embarking on a period of growth with ambitious plans to regenerate the Town Centre as well as deliver significant housing on strategic sites. With a new Local Plan soon to be adopted this is a great time to join our planning team. We are an urban Authority with excellent links to London.

We are looking for a qualified, suitably experienced planner to join our Development Management team. You will have experience of dealing with large and/or complex planning applications and be able to work using your own initiative and have excellent organisational and communication skills.

As well as dealing with Major Planning applications and large scale urban projects you will be responsible for carrying out the full range of development management duties and have the responsibility for issuing decisions and aiding the Development Manager in the delivery of the service.

The position is for 37 hours per week. However, we are happy to consider alternative working arrangements. We offer a number of benefits including:-
