Principal Planning Officer

Our client requires an experienced Principal Planning Officer (Development Management) to take on a role that will largely focus on managing house holder and major planning applications. You will be expected to manage your own caseload so you will be involved at every stage of the development process. Key to your success will be your ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders and to ensure schemes are delivered efficiently and in line with wider planning objectives for the area.

To apply you will need a relevant planning degree, extensive development management experience and an excellent knowledge of UK planning regulations and guidance; ideally you will be professionally accredited. You will also have experience of managing a caseload of major planning applications, have good leadership and negotiation skills and be comfortable dealing with external organisations.

The role is based in the East Midlands, will be offered for at least 3 months but could be extended beyond this. The rate the client is prepared to pay is very good, between £35-£40 /hr for the right candidate who can demonstrate the full competencies required for this role.
