We are up for this challenge and are significantly expanding our planning team to deliver quality development, which addresses the needs of the local community and protects our unique and precious environment. Do you have the skills and ambition to help us achieve such high quality development?

In Development Management we work with applicants, colleagues, consultees and our communities to deliver the requirements of the policies of the Local Plan and the key supporting documents to, at the pre-application stage, assist developers generate schemes that meet the high objectives these documents require.  We aim at the application stage to build on this and deliver quality, comprehensive decisions with few matters left for condition and also comply with other related approvals being sought.  We then closely monitor all such development on site in a positive manner and assist developers overcome issues as they arise. Do you want to work in this positive, innovative and result orientated manner with excellent access to the professional inputs required, particularly in terms of design, landscape, policy, viability and ecology to help you achieve?

We are looking for four people to play key roles in our expanded Development Management Team.  (We are also seeking enthusiast people to join our Policy and Plans Team so watch this space!) We are looking for appropriately qualified experienced and highly motivated individuals who can take a leading role in developing our service to meet the high objectives we have set ourselves.  All the posts will work as part of their general Team and all will be involved in project based Teams concentrating on rolling out development from pre-application to completion on particular sites. Just as importantly we look for enthusiasm and commitment to providing a high quality planning service in the public sector. You will be given plenty of opportunities to gain experience in a wide range of planning issues, and will be able to progress your career within the Authority. Starting salary will reflect level of previous experience and qualifications. Are you up for this challenge?

This Team Leader role will be actively involved in service management as well as having full responsibility for their Team and the work it undertakes in terms of planning enforcement, monitoring Cil and 106 payments and assisting ensure an appropriate policy backdrop is in place to enable these activities.  They will need to be able to demonstrate appropriate qualifications and skills in these specific areas as well as management in general and will need to be able to demonstrate this at interview.  The interview process will include psychometric testing,  the preparation of a presentation to be given on the day, general questions and a written exercise to be undertaken on the day to demonstrate competence in the duties involved. Do you want to come and demonstrate to us that you have this experience, skills and competencies?
