Salary: Negotiable depending on skills and experience

The successful Planning Officer will be working alongside senior members of the team to approve major residential and commercial planning applications.

Qualifications:

In this instance applications are sought from candidates with a relevant planning degree (or equivalent) and full membership to the RTPI.

Experience:

It is anticipated that the successful Planning Officer will have a strong understanding of local government planning regime and will be able to successfully manage their own workload, develop and deliver planning services and give expert pre-planning advice.

Duties:

• Liaising with customers and colleagues
• Preparing committee reports
• Defining both major and minor planning applications within government time frames
• Dealing with appeals
• Streamlining internal processes
