A fast-paced Surrey based local authority are currently undergoing a period of rapid and exciting development, and are looking for a Senior or Principal Planning Officer to assist on a range of projects associated with this and to help with this flux in workload.
As a Senior/Principal Planner, you will get the chance to lend a hand in shaping the future of this rural part of England, which is in line to become a hub of residential and commercial activity. The role will involve working on strategic projects and large-scale applications, master-planning work, providing some management support and negotiating with large-scale developers. The contract will be 6 months initially, with a view to extend and a role which is likely to develop through projects.
To take this forward, this local authority are looking for experienced and capable DM Planners. It is expected that you will have at least 3 years worth of experience on working on applications in a local authority, or a solid private sector background and sound knowledge of the UK planning system. This location is commutable from London, so please do not necessarily be discouraged from applying if you do not have a car.
