Senior Environmental Planner/Leading Consultancy - Birmingham

My client, a UK-leading planning, design and environment consultancy, is currently looking for a Senior Environmental Planner to join the team in Birmingham. Working from 10 locations throughout the UK, this consultancy maintain a broad and diverse client group and have become a highly reputable organisation within the planning and environmental markets.

Responsibilities

Working as a Senior Environmental Planner, the successful candidate will be required to manage a range of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and will be responsible for managing projects and leading project teams. You will work closely with the project director to ensure that projects are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget. You will provide advice on EIA matters and environmental aspects throughout all stages of the planning process. You will also produce high quality written work, including Environmental Statements (ES), and will demonstrate excellent communication skills, maintaining strong working relationships with clients and project teams.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will meet the following requirements:

• BSc or MSc in a relevant environmental discipline and/or environmental planning experience
• 2-3 years' experience working within a similar role, ideally within a consultancy setting
• Demonstrable experience coordinating and preparing EIAs and ESs
• Strong working knowledge if current relevant regulations, consents processes and the UK planning system
• Commercial awareness; able to manage to budgets and input into bidding and approval of projects
• Ability to work well within a team as well as independently
