Senior Planner - Newcastle - Planning & Design Consultancy
Would you like to work with one of the UK's leading Planning & Design consultancies on an interesting and varied portfolio of projects in the North East?
Our client are currently looking for a talented and commercially minded Senior Planner to join their team and play an active part in running projects across a host of sectors including Residential, Employment, Retail, Energy & Infrastructure.
The successful candidate will assist in servicing a mix of small, medium and large development schemes, using local knowledge and the company's national influence to plan and deliver projects of all types and scales.
Key responsibilities of the role
-Promoting large to medium scale residential, mixed-use, employment and other developments (both brownfield and greenfield) through the Local Development Framework and then by coordinating subsequent applications
-Conducting research and site appraisals on projects for our client base
-Preparation, submission and negotiation of planning applications of all sizes / types
-Preparation of planning and occasionally socio-economic statements
-Lodging appeals and potentially appearing at Informal Hearings
-Developing client relationships as part of our team
-Co-ordination of internal and external project teams and project management / QA
Job requirements
-MRTPI qualified
-Have strong planning experience, including, residential and employment experience
-Have good local planning knowledge in the North East region
-Have experience in consultancy or a similar commercial environment
-Have project management skills
-Are committed and have an eye for detail
-Can work with minimal supervision and have a strong ability to use their own initiative
-Have a strong teamworking capability
-Hold a full UK driving licence
-Business development interest / experience beneficial
