Planning Assistant/Officer (Development Management and Planning Policy) (DC016)

£19,269 - £28,818 (including local weighting)

Full Time 37 hours per week permanent

Based in Hertford 

About the role

This post is an introductory career development role in the planning service area. Postholders will be assigned tasks across the development management and planning policy service areas. On the job training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
 
• Dealing with a caseload of householder, other and small minor applications
• Provision of pre-application advice
• Provision of the Council's duty officer service
• Support and assist on planning policy projects
• Ensuring that development of the highest quality is secured meeting policy and corporate objectives

The ideal candidate will have:

• This is a career graded post - at Grade 4 a minimum of two A/AS levels will be required; at Grade 6 the postholder would be expected to have completed a planning or related degree course
• A valid, full driving licence
