PLANNING OFFICER/SENIOR PLANNING OFFICER

 Planning Officer (Project Officer) Salary - £23,866 - £25,463 plus a market supplement of £5,293

Senior Planning Officer (Project Manager) Salary - £26,470 - £30,756 plus a market supplement of £2,380

The Opportunity

A rare and fantastic opportunity to be part of one of the most ambitious and progressive Development Management teams in the South West. The senior planning/planning officer will support the delivery of a diverse range of developments from initial enquiry to completion.  The successful candidate will focus primarily on either business development projects, small/medium-sized and major residential projects or minor development projects with opportunities to gain experience in intermediate and major development schemes. An involvement in the full range of applications will be required; these include but will not be limited to: 

  • a variety of residential and business schemes proposals
  • advertisements,
  • householder
  • changes of use
  • initial planning investigation work
  • appeals
  • certificate of lawfulness applications and permitted development enquiries. 

About You

To be successful as a Senior Planning Officer/Planning Officer for Exeter’s Development Management team, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • A ‘can-do’ attitude: this is the quality we most value
  • Previous experience in Development Management
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation
  • A keenness to extend your skills in Development Management and in a delivery-focussed urban planning authority
  • Great oral and written communication skills are essential
