Compliance & Enforcement Officer
Ashfield District Council has an opportunity available for a Compliance & Enforcement Officer to work within Planning and Regulatory Services to carry out a range of enforcement and monitoring duties. Based in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, you will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return we will offer you a competitive salary of £23,866 - £26,470 per annum plus essential car user allowance (subject to criteria being met).
As one of the largest employers in the area we offer a wide range of services across the district including housing and assets, waste and environment, community protection, environmental health, planning and customer services to name just a few.
The Compliance & Enforcement Officer role
Reporting to the Development Team Manager, you will investigate breaches of planning control, including compliance with conditions and legal agreements and to serve legal notices and present evidence at court and appeals.
As our Compliance & Enforcement Officer you will also be responsible for carrying out site inspections providing planning advice to the public and writing reports in respect of breaches of planning control. You will also be a key player in delivering a proactive planning service in the district.
Our ideal Compliance & Enforcement Officer
To be successful in this role you will have a sound knowledge of planning law and planning enforcement issues or have experience of similar law enforcement work and will be a confident and self-motivated professional with excellent communication skills.
