Excellent, and improving, road networks in Ashford provide ease of travel into the town centre and to the many tourist attractions in the area, the beautiful countryside and coastal areas.

 

The opportunity

With a modern office based a couple of minutes from the train station, we offer a flexible working environment for a Planning Officer to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team on a wide range of planning and development tasks including processing pre-application enquiries and planning applications.

You will assist the Senior/Principal Planners in the delivery of high quality, customer focused, development management services and you will also have the opportunity to gain experience of presenting applications at the Planning Committee.

 

Who are we looking for?

Ideally, a Planning Officer with experience of working within Development Management and eligible for chartered membership of the RTPI through the achievement of an RTPI recognised qualification or equivalent planning training qualification.

 

You will need to demonstrate that you have experience of planning applications and/or enforcement processes and the administration of planning controls and regulations.  Perhaps you have  independently handled a case load and given advice on more complex planning applications. You will have the ability to organise your own workload, work to tight deadlines and it is essential that you are a car user.
