Planning Director - Leeds - Leading Property Consultants

£60,000 - £80,000 pa + £7,500 car allowance and aligned benefits (including 27 days annual leave 8% pension, private healthcare etc.)



My client, one of the top property consultants in the UK, are looking to recruit a Director to join the established Land and Development team in Leeds. Leading the planning team you will deliver profitable fee income to the business, manage an existing successful team and promote the business in the region.

As well as disposals of opportunities, the company are closely involved with the delivery of mixed use development, strategic land promotion and inner City regeneration. They provide a full national agency and development service to landowners, both public and private sector, and to developers. The team is also a leading advisor on development viability to developers and landowners in support of planning negotiations.

Primary responsibilities and deliverables include,
  • Deliver substantial fee income commensurate with role. An existing team and sustainable business is already in place and has been for 15 years.
  • Provision of sound and profitable advice and transactions to key clients - both public and private sector
  • Play a critical part in the promotion and development of the Land & Development dept.
  • Provide accurate management information to the Head of Land & Development as required
  • Develop the skills and potential of the team




This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious and motivated individual to join and lead this specialist and successful team. You should be commercially focused, have an excellent track record of delivery and be happy working both independently and as part of the team.

The desired or preferred knowledge, skills and experience for this role include, but are not constrained, by the following:
  • Previous experience at an appropriate level within the sector
  • Leadership and Risk management skills
  • Creative skills and an ability to lead from the front
  • An understanding of public sector requirements
  • Experience in both public and private sector acquisitions and disposals.
  • An ability to negotiate effectively
  • Excellent experience of communication and client interfacing skills
  • Excellent presentation skills as a leading ambassador for the company in the region.
  • Good IT skills
  • Viability and appraisal experience with Excel/Prodev/Argus Developer
  • RTPI/RICS qualified
