The Opportunity

With a modern  office based a couple of minutes from the train station, we offer a flexible working environment for a Senior Planning Officer. You will be a key member of the planning team with a primary focus on all aspects of development management and the determination of all planning applications including but not limited to householder applications and validation.

You will be responsible to the Joint Development Control Manager and assist in providing a high quality, customer-focused planning service delivering timely and quality decisions by acting as or supervising other case officers in the processing of pre-application enquiries and more complex planning applications.

Who are we looking for?

Ideally, a Senior Planning Officer who has a degree in Planning recognised by the RTPI or degree not recognised by the RTPI together with 1^st year of recognised post-graduate planning course, or equivalent.

You will need to demonstrate that you have experience of working flexibly as part of a multi-disciplinary team on a range of planning and development tasks focusing on more complex householder applications the validation of all types of applications and other development as required.

You will have an in-depth knowledge of planning legislation and policy and good experience of handling more complex planning applications in Development Management. You will have the ability to organise your own workload, work to tight deadlines and it is essential that you are a car user.
