South Holland District Council is currently looking for two enthusiastic and dynamic candidates to join its Planning Policy Team.

The Policy Team forms part of the South East Lincolnshire Joint Policy Unit (JPU), working with Boston Borough Council's planning policy team. The Council has reached a crucial stage in the preparation of a joint Local Plan which is nearing the end of its Examination in Public. The successful candidates will join us as we move forward with implementation and delivering the Council's growth ambitions set out in the plan.

The current priority is to support the remainder of the South East Lincolnshire Local Plan Examination in Public leading to the adoption of the plan later this year. The Senior Planning Policy Officer will be expected to lead on key areas of the plan, and going forward support the JPU Manager and Strategic Planning Manager developing the Council's growth agenda. The Planning Policy Officer will have an opportunity to lead on other key policy areas and be involved in other delivery initiatives. Both will be involved in supporting neighbourhood planning.

Potential candidates will be qualified in planning or a related discipline which is recognised by the Royal Town Planning Institute, have a sound working knowledge of local government, and have knowledge of the Local Plan process and competent IT skills. The team is located in South Holland District Council's offices but the successful candidates will need to work closely with Boston colleagues as and when appropriate, including relevant travel.
