SENIOR PLANNING OFFICER

Hay Grade 9     

 £30,801 – £37,584 per annum (subject to annual pay award)

 37 Hours per week

                      Test Valley Borough Council Offices, Andover

Purpose of job:

This is an ideal opportunity for the right person to enhance their planning experience at a senior level.  You will be part of our well resourced, high performing Development Management Team and will help us to make a positive contribution to the unique environment of the Test Valley.

With a positive attitude to development you will be joining a busy working environment and will be responsible for:

• the processing of all types of applications, including Majors
• the preparation and presentation of reports to Committee
• writing appeal statements and attending Hearings/Inquiries
• responding to the public on planning enquiries

You should be a good communicator who works well as part of a team, have excellent customer care skills and be able to make a contribution to a high quality development control service.

We are looking for enthusiastic candidates who:

• Have a recognised degree or professional qualification in Town Planning or equivalent
• Are eligible for membership of RTPI
• Significant experience of planning in a public or private sector capacity
• Can demonstrate successful experience of handling major applications.
