The opportunity

With modern public sector offices in the heart of Loughborough, we are looking for a highly experienced town planner to lead and manage the Development Management, Planning Enforcement and Customer Support and Performance functions.

From rural developments and new uses for key historic buildings up to town centre regeneration, large urban extensions and major food, agri-tech and other commercial developments. Overseeing the processing and determination of applications for planning permission and other applications as well as the investigation and enforcement, of breaches of Planning Control as necessary.

Who are we looking for?

A qualified planner who has operated at a senior level in a local authority. Who is a member of the RTPI and can deal with major development proposals.

You will need to demonstrate substantial experience of Development Management, of which a significant proportion should have been spent at management level. An ability to manage individual and team performance to achieve continuous improvements to service delivery are essential.

You will have significant experience of dealing with complex planning applications, planning appeals, have experience as an expert witness in Public Inquiries and leading and presenting reports to committee.
