Huntingdonshire District Council aims to provide high quality services and this means we need to employ and retain talented and dedicated people. Situated within the heart of the Cambridge-Peterborough Growth Area, Huntingdonshire is a beautiful district that boasts thriving market towns and many attractive villages, each with its own identity. We are a dynamic and progressive Local Authority.
The following key values and behaviours encompass the vision we have for our organisation and employees:
· putting the customer first - both internal and external
· valuing, respecting and protecting dignity
· willingness to challenge and change
· delivering excellence and providing value for money
Following the retirement of a colleague, we now have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, flexible and diligent Planning Enforcement Officer to assist us with monitoring, investigating and pursuing breaches of Planning regulations throughout the District.
The job will involve scrutinising planning site histories and drawings, carrying out site investigations, dealing with complainants and developers, making reasoned assessments, taking legal action when appropriate and communicating decisions to the parties concerned.
The job is suitable for a wide range of people, especially people with a town planning or investigative background (see Job Description/Person Specification). Full training and support will be given to the successful candidates.
The salary for the post is Grade F (£28,542 - £32,124 for a 37 hour week).
Employees appointed to jobs within the council will normally be appointed to the minimum point of the pay grade for the job.
Closing Date for applicants: midnight Wednesday 4 July 2018.
Date of interviews: Week commencing 23 July 2018 – flexible: day and time to be agreed with shortlisted candidates
