Due to a member of the team relocating within the organisation, we have a great opportunity for someone interested in placemaking in historic areas. Through providing expert planning policy advice, you will have direct impact on improving local plans across the region. We provide advice across a broad range of developments, from New Garden settlements, East/West road and rail, and in a National Park to name a few. You will have the opportunity to see through change by inspiring place-making through good urban design that enhances and rejuvenates our historic areas, also representing HE at Examinations in Public.

In joining us you will continue your own development, working alongside colleagues that believe that continuously developing their expertise is central to their success.
As an advocate of `constructive conservation`, you will give advice to those who are seeking to change important historic places, alongside local and national infrastructure projects as well as contributing to national and local guidance. As part of our wider collaborative approach to you will be heavily involved in our broader casework and projects which will enable you to take your planning work further.
Through experience either within a commercial practice or local authority, or ready to move into a principal planning role, you will have a thorough understanding of the planning system. You will have substantial experience at plan preparation and influencing stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes. Alongside your practical expertise you will also have relevant qualifications ideally within planning or a similar discipline. As a strong team player with good interpersonal skills, you will enjoy working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams.
You will be rewarded by playing a key role contributing to the development of the local region and enhancing our historic environment for the future. We also offer a wide benefits package including access to the Civil Service pension scheme, 28 days holiday plus bank holidays, corporate discounts, free entry into English Heritage sites as well as the flexibility in your working day that creates a strong work-life balance. We would welcome applications if you are looking to work either full-time or part-time.
