Associate Town Planner
Kent, South East England
Planning & Design Consultancy
£45,000 - £55,000 includes a comprehensive benefits package
Recognised across the UK as one of the largest integrated Planning & Design consultancies, our client is looking to recruit an Associate Planner to join their South East office. This role involves playing an active part in running projects across the Residential, Industrial, Commercial and Retirement housing sectors.
Our client's established and busy Planning team has an exciting opportunity for a talented, dynamic and commercially minded Planner to join the existing team of 25 to work on a broad range of planning projects across the South East, but project work will also take you further afield when required.
The team currently service a mix of small, medium and large development schemes, using their local knowledge and national influence to plan and deliver projects of all types and scales. Developments range in size, use and complexity and include the preparation and submission of all types of planning applications, as well as Local Plan promotions. We also currently have a number of exciting projects being brought forward under the Garden Cities Principles.
Key responsibilities of the role
-Promoting large scale residential, mixed use and commercial developments (both Brownfield and Greenfield) through the Local Development Framework and by coordinating professional teams to submit applications
-Co-ordination of project teams and project management
-Conducting research and site appraisals on projects for our client base
-Preparation, submission and negotiation of planning and economic applications
-Policy representations
-Developing client relationships
-Input to planning appeals
Job requirements
-Hold a degree and/or masters in town planning or similar discipline
-MRTPI
-6+ years Planning experience (Public or Private sector)
-Hold strong project management experience
-Committed with an eye for detail
-Personable and a strong team player
-Have an interest in community engagement
-Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car for business use
-Experience in business development desirable
