STRATEGIC PLANNING CIL PROJECT OFFICER

PLANNING

£28,434 TO £30,844

Maidstone – Great people, great place, great opportunity

Maidstone offers a unique and diverse context and this is an exciting opportunity to be involved.  We’re the first borough in Kent that falls outside the metropolitan green belt and this make us attractive for investment.  As the County Town of Kent, Maidstone itself is a large, busy and historic town, set in expansive countryside so we work on a varied canvas, encouraging and supporting economic growth whilst maintaining our local heritage and identity.

We are looking to recruit a graduate planner or someone with significant planning experience to join us in our busy Strategic Planning team.  The post holder will report to the Planning Projects and Delivery Manager and will work as part of the team focussed on delivering the recently adopted Local Plan. The post also joins the team at an exciting time as we move forward to implementing Maidstone’s Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).

You will use your sound knowledge of CIL to oversee and deliver the processes and systems to facilitate the effective collection and monitoring of CIL monies for Maidstone BC and coordinate work to facilitate the allocation of CIL receipts to specific infrastructure projects. This will be done in liaison with Members and a range of internal and external stakeholders and infrastructure providers. You will also monitor the delivery of such projects. The ability to communicate and negotiate effectively and the ability to produce & present clear and concise reports is essential.

Maidstone Borough Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expects all employees and volunteers to share this commitment.

This is a full time, permanent position.
