Graduate Planning Officer
I am currently working with an Oxfordshire based Local Authority who are looking for a graduate planner to come in as a Development Monitoring Officer, allowing the successful graduate to get first-hand experience of working within a busy Local Authority.
The successful candidate will be involved in monitoring developments that have been granted planning permission ensuring that it is built to an acceptable standard, negotiating with developers and taking enforcement action where appropriate. They will also be tasked with monitoring the S106 agreements agreed between the Council and developers to ensure that all monies are collected and obligations are complied with.
You will need to be pro-active and organised with strong communication skills, as you will be liaising to an appropriate standard with a range of stakeholders.
The Local Authority would be looking to bring the successful candidate on an initial contract basis, with the view to turning this contract into a permanent role in the future. This is a great opportunity to get experience for any young planner. A degree in planning and a technical or associate membership of the RTPI are desirable.
