As Head of Planning, you will have an influential role in helping to us to achieve our vision and shaping the development of the borough for future generations.
This is an ideal time for you to join us. You will play a critical role in taking our Local Plan forward and a number of exciting major sustainable urban developments and regeneration sites, within and on the edge of the town centre. This will be combined with an array of rural planning issues and neighbourhood plans - providing ample opportunity to hone your professional skill set across a breadth of planning, development, building control and key regeneration matters including infrastructure projects, MIRA Technology Park and Enterprise Zone and the cross order partnership consisting of Hinckley and Bosworth, Nuneaton and Bedworth and North Warwickshire.
In this pivotal role, you will also represent the authority at a range of forums and will work closely with the senior leadership team and members, in providing advice, developing strategies and communicating the work of the service.
Key to your success in this role will be your enthusiasm to drive the service forward, together with your planning expertise of development management, major regeneration and/or Local Plans, combined with ability to support the development of planning strategies and policies.
You’ll be an experienced manager whose expertise will enable you to quickly establish credibility, as well as engender support for the work of the service.
Aside from the above, you’ll also be skilled in working at a political level – understanding members’ roles, as well as how to engage and influence them.
Hinckley and Bosworth is an attractive borough in which to live and work. With a population of c110, 000 with c48, 000 properties of which 35% are urban and 65% rural, it offers a fantastic choice of properties for those seeking to establish their home here. House prices are below the national average, although amongst the fasting rising in the country (13.6% 12 months up to March 2017).
