If you thrive on action, you will love Dartford. Working for an ambitious authority that is well and truly on the map, no two days will be the same. On the edge of London, the Borough is one of the fastest growing districts in the country, with new communities being formed and a buoyant economy. Hosting Bluewater, the emerging Ebbsfleet Garden City, and proposals for a Crossrail extension, you will work on ensuring the growth framework remains ambitious and delivers positive outcomes.

We are looking for a strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills, a creative approach to problem solving and good communication skills. Significant planning policy experience, including evidence base preparation, is desirable.

You will be part of an integrated team taking forward a planning policy framework to elevate standard of development, promote innovative solutions, and ensure new and existing communities reap the benefits of development.

With a determination to continue transforming Dartford town centre, and the need to ensure major new infrastructure provision is delivered (supported by our adopted Community Infrastructure Levy), the Council is commencing a review of its Local Plan. You will be involved in this, a range of key Borough development issues, and inputting to our major projects.

The Council’s offices are in a highly accessible location, next to Dartford rail station; with frequent services from Central and south east London (Oyster Card coverage) and Kent. Road connections via the M25 and A2 are also excellent.

Apply on-line at www.dartford.gov.uk by 5pm, 5th February 2018. Interviews are scheduled for 19th February 2018. For queries please call Mark Aplin, Planning Policy Manager, on (01322) 343202.
