Planning Officer - London Borough - 3 Month Rolling - £25-£31/hour

We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of London’s busiest and fast paced boroughs. They require a planner with previous experience in development management to hit the ground running with a caseload of minors, householders and others. They also require a graduate/junior planner who can deal with prior approvals as a start off point. As with most London Boroughs this would be a 3 month rolling contract but with likely extensions up to 9-12 months.

About the Role:

Our client is seeking a Planning Officer to become a key a part of the Town Planning team. The Authority is seeking an individual with 1+ years previous experience in Development Management to assist in handling a variety of minor and medium applications, including residential, commercial and mixed use applications. Your work load would consist of mainly householders, minors and others but with the opportunity to handle more complex cases if necessary and capable. You should expect to handle at least 30 applications at any one time with this planning team.

The role would be for an initial 3 months with a view to extend dependent on performance.

The pay rate for this role is negotiable and dependent upon your level of experience and expertise but £25-£30/hour is realistic.

About You:

The successful candidate will ideally have a few years of experience in a Local Authority based Planning Development Management role. A chartered and qualified planner (MRTPI) is preferred but not essential.
