Planning Opportunities in East Anglia
East Anglia’s planning departments are busier than ever this Summer, and I am currently working with a number of local authorities in Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire who are looking to recruit Planners from Officer to Manager level, in Development Management.
If you would be interested in finding out whether there is a contract position out there that would be right for you, or hearing a bit more about how it could suit your career or your lifestyle, I would be happy to have a chat with you about your options.
Planning Officer and Senior Planners – Suffolk – This council in a market town surrounded by rural Suffolk are looking to bring on a Planning Consultant on a rolling contract. They are looking for somebody who can work on a caseload of applications, householders and a lower volume of more complicated caseloads. Familiarity with the Uniform system ideal.
Planning Officer – Essex
Lovely little LPA in Essex hoping to bring on a Planning Officer on contract to assist with a similar caseload to above – mostly householders and some minor applications. 6 month rolling contract that will likely last as long as you desire.
Senior Planning Officer – Essex
Great (and rare) opportunity to work for a particular local authority in Essex- the caseload is that of a Senior Planner and will range from a few householders up to majors (some 100-200 units). Up to £40 an hour.
Planning Officer – Cambridgeshire
Due to a spike in workload towards the end of the year, this LPA are looking for a contract planner to work on a varied caseload, householders up to 30 units.
Planning Consultant - Hertfordshire
Local authority easily commutable from London with a great team are hoping to being a contract Planner on board. There are vacancies at Planning Officer and Senior Planner level here- if you'd like to work in Herts, let me know and I will put you forward for the most suitable position.
Service Manager – Hertfordshire
Opportunity to join the team as a Service Manager in development management, leading and motivating a team of 10 planners for a period of 3 months, that may extend longer depending on success of permanent recruitment.
Planning Officer - Bedfordshire
6 month rolling contract working on a mixed caseload of planning applications, form householders/change of use up to 20-30 units, depending on experience.
Rates for the above positions vary depending on location and your relevant experience, but range from £25-40 an hour for Officer roles, and £45+ for management positions.
If you would like any further information on any of these roles including location, working arrangements/home working, please do get in touch with Ella, email@example.com, 020 3795 4828
I have been recruiting specifically for local authorities in the East Anglia area for a number of years now, and have a good idea about the rates and types of contracts you can expect at each LPA based on your experience.
If you are looking for your next contract, or toying with the idea of going into contracting, I would be happy to have a confidential chat with you about positions that could be of interest and the process more generally.
