Principal Planning Policy Officer
Be where it all happens.
The City of Westminster uniquely touches everyone through its history, culture and institutions, benefiting the nation as an economic powerhouse and as a place of extraordinary heritage and creativity. The council's vision is for Westminster to be a City for All which is built on the fundamentals of being a global city, celebrating strong neighbourhoods and thriving communities.
Under City for All 2017/18 we have established a City Plan Task Force to expedite the delivery of our City Plan by 2018. This will include a root and branch review of our planning policies to ensure they deliver the right conditions for growth whilst ensuring the benefits of prosperity are spread evenly. We are looking for two ambitious and talented Principal Planning Policy Officers to join our Policy & Strategy team. You will work in an interdisciplinary, highly collaborative, high-calibre team to develop, support and help implement a wide range of high priority policies and strategies across the Council and the City.
You will need to bring a commitment to high professional standards, outstanding relationship management skills and clear, incisive thinking to bear on a range of complex and challenging planning policy areas. We are looking for candidates with a strong background in geography, town, urban, spatial planning or similar and preferably either a member of or working towards membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute or other relevant professional institution.
