About the Role
The 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games have put the Newham in the international spotlight and are driving change at an unprecedented pace and scale. With an abundance of land for development, world-class transport and digital infrastructure, and a young, energetic and increasingly skilled workforce, the borough is ideally placed to accommodate much of London’s growth in the 21st century. As development and investment in the UK’s capital moves steadily eastwards, Newham is set to become a new heart for London. This is a rare opportunity to join this high performing Planning Team.
We will ensure that you gain valuable planning experience across the entire spectrum of development management. In addition, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in planning enforcement, planning policy, planning appeals, and transport planning.
If you want to help shape this part of London – and leave a lasting legacy for all its communities – come and join the team!
Newham will offer you a unique working environment within a London borough that is at the centre of many of Europe’s most exciting regeneration projects, including the Olympic Legacy and the Royal Docks, building thousands of new homes and creating thousands of new jobs, leading to a major uplift of the borough as a whole.
With c.2000 new homes targeted to be delivered per year by 2025 and 25 major regeneration projects underway, including Stratford City, the Olympic Legacy, Canning Town redevelopment plus the arrival of Crossrail in 2018, Newham is leading in the delivery of creating distinctive and high quality places.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly-motivated individual with proven planning experience to join our dynamic Planning Team. This is a key role in the Planning Team and you will play an integral role in driving forward high quality development within the borough and effectively turn our vision into reality.
We are looking for an individual who has demonstrable recent planning experience with a high performing Local Authority who is a team player and is self-motivated, enthusiastic and has the ability to manage a complex and varied caseload.
