Within Co-operative Estates, the Commercial & Investment Team is responsible for driving trading profit from its property assets. At its heart is the Commercial & Investment Planning Team who provide crucial input to strategic decision making and the enhancement of asset value. We are now looking to strengthen the team with the appointment of a Strategic Planning Manager.

Manchester: £50,000 - £65,000 + car allowance + benefits

About the role:

Based in Manchester, you will be responsible for leading the Commercial & Investment Planning Team which includes three FTE planners. You will provide strategic planning advice to the Commercial & Investment Team to support the delivery of Group targets in asset management and value generation across the Commercial & Investment property portfolios. You will be a strategic thinker, have a sound understanding of Local Government practice, politics and be commercially aware. The role is broad-ranged covering a diverse range of property types and sectors from retail to agricultural.

We are looking for MRTPI qualified candidates currently working at least at principal/associate level or equivalent, who are hard-working, commercially aware and passionate about property and planning. Candidates should show:

• Demonstrable experience of leading teams and successfully delivering major consents
• A clear understanding of emerging policy trends, particularly in relation to the localism agenda
• An ability to resolve complex issues and create clear, flexible and profitable strategies for major land assets.
