Wakefield Metropolitan District Council team leader Julie Greenfield told Planning: “We are dealing with a wide range of applications across the board.”

Major developments included the Hepworth gallery redevelopment, Trinity Walk shopping centre and Merchant Gate commercial-quarter regeneration (pictured).

They also include a scheme to improve facilities at Castleford railway station in a project being developed by Wakefield Council and West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA).

The council is currently seeking to recruit a planning officer and senior planning officer. The former will manage a varying case load of work, offer advice and discharge conditions.

The more senior post will determine major planning applications and implement urban regeneration projects.
