Wokingham planning officeWokingham Borough Council is looking to recruit a new planning officer and senior planning officer following the adoption of its local plan.

Service manager for development management Ian Bailey told Planning: “We have pressure from developers looking at residential sites and recently adopted our local plan.

“Wokingham has four strategic locations, which contain the bulk of our housing requirements. We have a team dedicated to that while another team focuses on the rest of the borough.

“We have seen an uplift in major applications but we are also seeing a huge number of householder applications. This is common with other nearby borough such as Berkshire.”

Projects include plans to build a new secondary school as part of the major development that will take place at Arborfield Garrison.
