Following a restructure, the council’s forward-thinking and commercially focused planning department is looking for dynamic, proactive and experienced planning professionals to join the team. With aims for Milton Keynes to double in size to 500,000 by 2050, find out why now is an exciting time to join a department that will lead it all.

Why would someone want to work at Milton Keynes Council?

Milton Keynes is a dynamic new town, much more than just roundabouts and concrete cows. We’re in the heart of the Cam-MK-Ox growth arc, leading the way in testing autonomous vehicles and robot deliveries. We’ve got outstanding areas of natural beauty and extensive parklands, making us a vibrant place to study, live and work. We’re on track to deliver Plan:MK’s 31,000 new homes by 2031 and we’re working hard to make a great city even greater.

What roles are you currently recruiting for and what kind of people would suit?

We’re currently recruiting for a range of planning roles at the council for dynamic, proactive and experienced planning professionals who can make the dreams of Milton Keynes a reality. The roles include a development plans and delivery manager, a development management manager, a deputy development management manager and a senior planning officer. We’re after people with the experience, potential and mindset to accelerate the growth of an internationally acclaimed city.
We’re also recruiting for an enthusiastic, energetic and driven planning officer/graduate planning officer who will confidently help planning services to deliver a flawless development management service, and provide physical, social and economic growth for Milton Keynes.
