Westminster City CouncilWestminster City Council in London is creating a new task group to help deliver its new local plan.

The authority is recruiting for a planning policy officer to join the group as it works on the refreshed strategic document which will guide development in the borough.

The new role will involve spatial planning and development policy using monitoring and research, analysis, special projects and pilots as well as liaising with government.

A statement from the council said: “To make sure that we are prepared for the challenges over future decades, we are preparing a new city plan and have set up a dedicated task group within the council’s wider City Policy and Strategy Team to develop it and take it forward to adoption.”

The policy and strategy team covers housing, place, communities, infrastructure, spatial planning, the environment, licensing, corporate, people and public service reform.

The council has adopted the latest version of its city plan in November last year, including a revision of its special policy areas.
