Westminster City Council has appointed Ben Denton to take over planning responsibilities following a shake-up at executive management level.

Denton takes on the role of executive director for growth, planning and housing.

He was strategic director for housing, regeneration and property.

The new management team was confirmed last week following a restructure announced in July.

The council said this was prompted by the need to save £1.5m in senior management in three years in areas including the built environment, housing, property and regeneration.

Denton said: “The new structure will give us more scope to deliver services in a way that meet the financial challenges in innovative ways.”
