GostreyWaverley Borough Council is looking to expand it's planning policy team to help it build capacity for neighbourhood planning work.

Principal planning officer in policy Gayle Wootton told Planning: “We are working with parishes on neighbourhood plans and need to add to our capacity.

“We are tackling part one and two of our local plan and need to add two more staff to a policy team that currently numbers five planners.”

The council is seeking to recruit two senior planning officers on two-year contracts for the local authority.

Jobs will involve working with communities preparing neighbourhood plans, developing local green-space designations, and preparing draft policies and evidence to support site allocations.

The Surrey local authority covers greenbelt and protected areas as well as towns such as Farnham, Cranleigh, Godalming, Haslemere and Gostrey” (pictured).
