Consultancy Walsingham Planning is expanding its office in Buckinghamshire to cope with an increase in workload.

The consultancy is advertising for an RTPI-qualified planner to take up the position of consultant planner in its Bourne End branch.

The work will include progressing development sites through the planning process on behalf of the firm’s mainly commercial clients.

Stephen Brooker, director at the firm, told Planning: “Originally we advertised this post as maternity cover with an eye to keeping the successful candidate on at the end of that period.

“However, we didn’t get a lot of response so we decided to just advertise it as a permanent position.

“We are incredibly busy at the moment, as is our other office in Cheshire, where a number of part timers are increasing the number of hours they are working, so we really need another pair of hands on deck.”

The firm, which covers development management across residential, commercial and leisure sectors, is celebrating its 30th birthday this month, and is building an extension on its facilities to cope with the expansion.

The new appointment will take the size of the Buckinghamshire office – which covers the south of England and Wales to eight.
