Planner Jerry Unsworth has taken up a two-year part-time position with the Colne Valley Regional Park to lead its input to the Heathrow’s expansion plans.

The park straddles the M25 from Staines to Rickmansworth and the southern section would be severely impacted upon by Heathrow expansion.

Unsworth said that the role “will be to ensure a positive legacy of ‘green and blue’ infrastructure”.

For the last four years Unsworth has worked as a sole practitioner, having formerly been head of planning and sustainability with Wycombe District Council.
