Kate HendersonThe chief executive of lobby group the Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA) has been appointed visiting professor at one of the world’s leading planning schools.

Kate Henderson will take up her post at University College London’s Bartlett School of Planning in July.

The TCPA said Henderson would continue in post as chief executive when she returned from maternity leave later this year, but that the honorary professorship could see her give lectures, lead seminars, and participate in research.

Nick Gallent, head of the Bartlett School, said Henderson was a “passionate advocate” of the planning profession’s ability to support communities and change lives.

“I am sure that with her passion for the subject, she will help us inspire the next generation of professionals to see planning, at all levels, as a positive force for change,” he said.
