Strutt and Parker appoints Phillips to lead new London planning team

David Phillips Strutt & ParkerDavid Phillips has been appointed as head of property consultancy Strutt & Parker’s new London planning team.

Chartered town planner Phillips joins from rival firm GL Hearn, where he was planning director.

His role will include leading the new team, working with residential development, investment and commercial schemes to advise on commercial, residential and mixed-use developments in the capital.

John McLarty, head of planning at Strutt & Parker said that the appointment is part of the firm’s expansion strategy, and follows the addition of six planners through the acquisition of consultancy AKA Planning in Guildford.

The firm now has eight planning teams employing 47 planners.

Phillips formerly worked as a director at town planning and urban design consultancy Andrew Martin Associates.

He has a master of science in city and regional planning from the University of Wales College, Cardiff.
