Consultancy Southern Planning Practice has expanded to take on mounting workload from local authorities and residential developers.

The Winchester-based business has recruited Neil March as associate planner. He is due to join the practice in November from Winchester City Council where he is an enforcement manager.

Southern Planning Practice director, Ian Ellis, told Planning: “There's an increasing amount of planning policy work in the Hampshire and West Sussex areas.

“Local authorities are getting ready to prepare the various iterations of their local development frameworks.

“But the general uplift has resulted in people wanting to carry out developers and we have builder clients instructing us to proceed with planning applications.”
