SLR appoints environmental impact assessment lead
Consultancy SLR has appointed a new technical director and planning and environmental impact assessment (EIA) lead.
Adrian French takes on the role, part of the firm’s UK power sector division, at SLR’s Bradford on Avon office, leaving his previous role as director of planning (energy and infrastructure) at consultancy WYG Group, where he spent five years.
French is a chartered town planner, a chartered resource and waste manager, a chartered environmentalist, and a member of the National Infrastructure Planning Association.
His experience includes the planning of business parks, urban extensions and university campuses, and development proposals for renewable energy projects, waste management facilities, and quarry and port developments.
French’s previous roles include head of planning and development at energy company AGR Renewables, director at consultancy Terence O’Rourke, a principal planning officer at Hampshire County Council, and a case officer at the Planning Inspectorate.
