Ben WoodSavills has moved a senior planner from the south east of England to the west country to tackle a growth of projects in the rural sector.

Ben Wood (pictured) joined the team in Taunton, Somerset, from Savills in Petworth, West Sussex - formerly Smiths Gore – and before that worked as a planner for Eco-Bos Development and for Cornwall Council.

The chartered town planner works predominantly in the rural sector, with projects ranging from householder development, barn conversions and works on listed buildings.

Wood also helps in promotion of strategic development sites and obtaining planning permission for large-scale solar energy schemes.

Director Steve Briggs said: “We are experiencing an exceptionally busy time with great demand for planning services across the south-west region.”
