The Royal Town Planning Institute’s (RTPI’s) vice president Wei Yang and past-president Vincent Goodstadt have both been appointed to the UN’s Habitat Professional Forum (HPF).

They will represent the Global Planners Network on the HPF, which consults planners, architects and engineers on global policy and strategic issues.

Wei Yang (pictured above) said: “Using the RTPI’s Plan the World We Need campaign, our aim is to ensure that planning is recognised as vital if we are to achieve UN Sustainable Development Goals and a green recovery from COVID-19.”

The RTPI is also advising the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office on strategic capacity building for planners in 19 global cities through the implementation of the Global Future Cities Programme.
